Dell XPs 15z Notebook
One of the major computer manufacturers, Dell may have dropped out its line for Adamo notebooks. This does not mean that they surrendered creating mega-slim computers.
They have actually proven that yesterday. The company officially revealed its new invention, the Dell XPS 15z, a less than an inch super slim notebook packed with IntelCore i5 or i7 processors, Nvidia distinct graphics, and 1080p display.
Dell says it is just the first in a series of stylish new XPS and Inspiron notebooks to come. XPS 15z is not as thin as the Adamos but they are filled a lot more power and features.
“The XPS 15z provides a glimpse into a series of visually stunning and powerful systems coming soon to our consumer and small-to-medium-business product portfolio. We’re committed to introducing next-generation products that help people pursue their personal and professional passions.” said Dell’s Consumer and Small/Medium Business group president Steve Felice, in a statement.
The Dell XPS 15z is powered by either a second-generation “Sandy Bridge” Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor and features a 15.6-inch WLED display available in either standard HD or optional Full HD (1,920 by 1,080-pixel resolution).
The displays are driven by Nvidia GeForce GT252M discrete graphics with either 1 or 2 GB of dedicated video memory—and the systems support both Nvidia 3DTV Play and Nvidia Optimus technology for switching between dedicated and discrete graphics to save power when serious graphics processing isn’t needed. (There’s also an HDMI 1.4 output for connecting to a big screen.)
The Dell XPX 15z support up to 750 GB of hard disk storage, ship with 4 GB of RAM (supporting up to 8 GB), and feature a slot-loading DVD±RW drive. Of course, the system sport 802.11a/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 wireless networking, along with two USB 3.0 ports, a dual USB/eSATA port, a 9-in-1 media card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Mini-DisplayPort video output, and gigabit Ethernet. Dell says the XPX 15z can get up to 8 hours of usage with its standard 8-cell battery. And the Dell XPS 15z ships in a case that’s less than one inch thick—0.97 inches.
The Dell XPS 15z is available for prices starting at $999.
