LG T-Mobile G2x Review

The T-Mobile G2x is an attractive smart phone. Running on a Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor, this mobile handset has the biggest performance scores on an Android device. Its 4G connection speed is considered the fastest too. The G2x also records 1080p video and permits you to view that content over a big-screen TV.

An excellent fan of fancy themes or skins? You will be amazed to own the LG G2x, which is completely an Android OS. The question is whether this device is the best for T-Mobile customers? Though it can face a tough competition with the HTC Sensation, but whether or not it’s the top Android phone on any mobile phone carrier.

Design

Measuring 4.9 x 2.5 x 0.4 inches, the LG G2x has similar size or dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G (4.8 x 2.5 x 0.4) along with the Motorola Atrix (4.6 x 2.5 x 0.43, 4.8 ounces). At the lightweight of 5 ounces, it’s slightly heavier than each of those mobile handsets. Nevertheless, the LG G2x is compact enough to be kept in our shirt pocket. It is definitely lighter than a larger 4.3-inch Android phones.

On top on the G2x has features of a 3.5mm headphone jack, power button, and flap-covered micro HDMI port for video output to HDTVs. The LG T-Mobile G2x’s right side has two slim volume keys, even though the bottom houses have some of stereo speakers along with a micro USB port.

On the rear side is the LG T-Mobile G2x’s 8-MP camera with flash. Revealing the style of LG’s G-Slate tablet, a brushed metal strip runs lengthwise down the guts. It’s as being a kickstand, but it’s used only for decoration.

Display screen

LG T-Mobile G2x has 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) IPS panel. It looks good in some recoverable format. The colours are rich along with the viewing angles are wide, but the LCD washes out in excess direct sunlight and suffers from lots of backlight leaking out of the edges on the screen, contributing to visible “stains” on solid, dark-colored content.

Camera

The T-Mobile G2x‘s camera interface is functional easy to work, but the settings menu feels a little cluttered, due to amount of alternatives. Packing along a number crunching 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, we’re enthralled with the lovely group of photos that the G2x can perform capturing. The LED flash does a wonderful job in lighting up shots appropriately without seeing much digital noise to use production.

Software

Android loyal users will appreciate the T-Mobile G2x’s clean Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. We’d love the new Gingerbread version in the OS, but upgrading should not be that far off. You will be greeted with the tried-and-true lockscreen that displays enough time, date, and carrier.

Sliding the lock tab right quickly unlocks the product, while moving the sound tab left toggles sound on or off. As soon as the phone is unlocked, you’ll have use of five customizable Android home pages to populate with apps and widgets. At the base are tabs that pull up the dialer, application tray, and internet browser. Dragging a finger down with the the top of the screen exposes the notification shade.

T-Mobile G2x is just about the best Android powered smartphone on T-Mobile’s lineup right this moment – completely! Looking at its $200 on-contract cost, comparable to many other respectable high-end devices available, it’s competent to dramatically separate itself from the pack due to the standout of firsts – like its 1GHz dual-core processor and ability to shoot 1080p videos.

The sole thing that seems missing with the package is support for HSPA+, but if you do not need by far the most of T-Mo’s 4G network, you may be perfectly fine with it. If you decide to have $200 to spend for any speedy and powerful smartphone, it’s nearly almost unthinkable so you might not pick this one up.
